This competition warmly invites students aged 5–15 from Hong Kong and Macau to participate. Whether you are an experienced speaker or a beginner, as long as you are willing to take the first step, the stage is yours!

Leveraging the authoritative arts platform of the Chinese Children Small Golden Bell, this competition creates a prestigious stage for children and youth nationwide to showcase language talent, express independent thinking, and inherit the spirit of the times.

 

The competition aims to discover and nurture future talents who possess excellent communication skills, deep critical thinking abilities, and a broad contemporary vision.

Winners of the Hong Kong & Macau Regional Final will be invited to compete in the National Final at Guangdong Radio and Television Studio, where they will exchange ideas and compete with participants from other cities.

Individual Awards

Hong Kong & Macau – Preliminary Round

  • Star Speaker Award (85 points or above)

  • Commendable Speaker Award (70 points or above)

Awarded with electronic certificates and eligibility to advance to the Hong Kong & Macau Regional Final.

In the event of tied scores, the same award will be granted.
All participants may apply for an electronic participation certificate through their schools.

 

Hong Kong & Macau – Regional Final Round

  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards (with certificates and trophies)

  • Merit Award (with certificate and medal)

Award winners may advance to the China National Final.
In the event of tied scores, the same award will be granted.
All participants may apply for an electronic participation certificate through their schools.

 

China National Final

  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards (with certificates and trophies)

The China National Final is organized by Guangdong Radio and Television Station and all awards are presented by it

  • Outstanding Instructor Award (Gold Award winners may apply for a free electronic certificate for their instructor)

  • Outstanding Coaching Organization Award (Gold Award winners may apply for a free electronic certificate for their organization)

Judging Criteria

Speech Content (35 points)

The content closely aligns with the theme, presents accurate viewpoints, clear and original insights, and is rich, concrete, vivid, and engaging. Materials are authentic, representative, and innovative; stories are moving and reflect objective reality with universal significance and the spirit of the times. The script is well-structured, thoughtfully designed, compelling, concise, fluent, and intellectually substantial.

 

Presentation (35 points)

Standard language use with clear articulation and a strong, resonant voice. Accurate, fluent, and natural delivery. Appropriate speaking techniques, suitable pace, tone, volume, and rhythm, effectively expressing emotional changes and content.

 

Image Demeanor (15 points)

Energetic demeanor; effective use of posture, movement, gestures, and facial expressions. Neat and appropriate attire; natural behavior with poise, confidence, and strong appeal.

 

Image on the Spot (10 points)

Strong emotional impact, appeal, and influence, with effective engagement and connection with the audience, creating an excellent overall speech effect.

 

Overall Impression (5 points)

A comprehensive subjective evaluation based on the participant’s overall performance.

 

 

Contest Rules

  1. Participants must enter the appropriate age group according to their age and may choose only one competition language. The organizer reserves the right to verify identity with student ID or related documents.

  2. Speech content must not involve politics, religion, pornography, violence, harmful ideology, insulting content, or any inappropriate material. Any legal responsibility arising from violations shall be borne by the participant, and the organizer reserves the right to pursue legal action.

  3. Participants confirm that their entries are original, do not plagiarize any third-party works, and do not infringe intellectual property rights. Any quotations or paraphrased content must be clearly acknowledged during the speech. Violations will result in disqualification.

  4. Video Competition:

    • Videos must not exceed the time limit; violations will affect scoring

    • The participant’s full body, face, and movements must be clearly visible

    • The video must be recorded in one continuous take with no editing, cutting, or post-production

    • Original footage with live audio recording

    • Minimum resolution: 720p (1280 × 720)

    • Once submitted, entries cannot be modified, exchanged, or returned

  5. Live Competition:

    • When the participant’s name is called the first time, they must proceed to the stage position

    • Timing begins when the name is called the second time

    • Exceeding the time limit will affect scoring; judges may stop the performance

    • Props are allowed, provided they are prepared and placed within the allotted time

    • The competition may be held in sessions; participants may only enter during their assigned session and must leave at its conclusion

    • Participants should return to the venue after all performances in their group to receive feedback, results, score sheets, and awards (if applicable)

  6. Cue cards are not allowed in the Regional Final and China National Final. Violators will be penalized and disqualified from advancement.

  7. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation (if applicable) and must check in on time. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

  8. Submission of the application form or payment indicates that the participant and their parent/guardian (if under 18) agree to unconditionally transfer the copyright and related intellectual property rights of submitted works, videos, and photos to the organizer for use, including but not limited to editing, reproduction, archiving, transmission, publication, promotion, exhibition, and printing.

  9. Submission of the application form or payment also signifies agreement to comply with all competition rules and arrangements. Violations will result in disqualification.

  10. Please ensure all information provided is accurate. Any changes requested after submission (e.g. name or address) will incur an administrative fee of HKD 120.

  11. Published results are final. No appeals will be accepted. The organizer reserves the final right of decision.

  12. In the event of any discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.

  • Hong Kong & Macau Regional Final Round: HKD 550
    (Includes certificates and awards)

  • China National Final: HKD 1,550
    (Includes certificates, awards, professional makeup, and professional video recording)

The association hopes more students will enhance their speaking skills and unlock their potential through this competition.

* Professional Speakers and Trainers Association provides opportunities for children from low-income families to develop their potential. Students from CSSA families in Hong Kong and Macau may apply to the Association for special financial assistance to participate in contests in the Hong Kong & Macau at half price. Please contact the Association if needed.
